Google Ads & Analytics, 2026
Google is pushing AI deeper into the day-to-day work of advertisers.
The latest expansion of Ask Advisor brings more agentic capabilities to Google Ads and Google Analytics, with Google aiming to help marketers find performance insights, investigate changes and build reports using natural-language prompts. The bigger shift is not simply another AI feature. It is Google moving parts of campaign analysis and reporting from manual workflows into conversational, AI-assisted processes.
For marketers running complex accounts, that could reduce the time spent finding and organising information. It also raises a more useful question: what should marketers do with the extra time, and how much decision-making should they hand to AI?

Analytics
Google is bringing AI Overviews to the Google Analytics homepage. The summaries are designed to highlight meaningful changes since a user’s previous login, such as shifts in traffic or seasonal sales activity. Google says users will also be able to move from these summaries into Ask Advisor for deeper investigation, with delivery planned through email and mobile notifications as well.

Takeaway
Marketers should resist the temptation to measure these tools only by how many tasks they can automate. A better question is: what higher-value work can the team do with the time AI gives back?
